Airsoft Guns are replicas of real firearms on a 1:1 scale that shoot nonlethal plastic pellets used for target practice and military-style games. They can be based on pistol replicas, machine guns, assault rifles, revolvers, shotguns, or sniper rifles. Each model has its own parameters influencing the performance and purpose of the weapon.
They use a rubber or silicone nub called a hop-up that applies pressure to the top of the BB as it passes through the barrel and creates backspin, which in turn influences its trajectory. The hop-up system can be adjusted with a small wheel located on the gun’s chamber, changing its amount of effect. The higher the amount of hop-up, the more backspin and a higher trajectory, while the lower the amount, the less backspin and a shorter trajectory.
There are a number of different types of Airsoft guns that can be purchased, from entry level spring models to full-size sniper rifles that can cost up to $1,000. Generally speaking, they are safe as long as you follow some basic safety rules and always wear reliable eye protection when handling them.
Some playing fields have muzzle velocity restrictions, usually measured in joules, and guns shooting over that limit may be confiscated. Also, some weapons require manual power from the player through a hand-cocking mechanism or through the use of gas such as propane or carbon dioxide. Gas airsoft guns can be either non-blowback (NBB), partial blowback (PBB), or gas blowback (GBB). Those that require the use of gas typically have a moving slide or bolt to mimic the mechanical action of a real firearm when it’s fired. airsoft Guns
